C.A.R.D.WARE

C.A.R.D.WARE is a 3D, turn-based stealth game where you play as a hitman robot tasked to collect parts from your target. Controlling the player’s movements and actions with cards, play your way through a variety of levels while building your deck of cardware.

Development Time: 12 weeks

Released in December 2021

Contributions:

  • Established and oversaw the development and production process of the programming, design, art, and audio team

  • Organized outside playtesting for our team and entire class with game design club

  • Kept teams on track, ensuring team members understood goals so they could hit their deadlines

  • Developed test plan to ensure the game balance met deckbuilding standards

  • Tracked daily team progress using the Scrum Burndown Chart

  • Put the team's health first throughout the project

Reflection:

  • Learned to rescope often and how to convince the team to let go of ideas.

  • Ensured two late joining team members felt welcomed and appreciated after being traded from another team.

  • One artist was not aligned with the project need, we had a difficult conversation where we decided he could do his best work in sound effects.
